Airtel Wants TRAI to Control Predatory Pricing. UNINOR gives Airtel a Shock with Rock Bottom Pricing.
Airtel has approached TRAI asking TRAI to regulate tariff pricing for Telecom Operators. Airtel has appealed to TRAI to look into the 'Predatory Pricing' in the telecom industry in India. While the subscribers are making hay while the sunshines, Telecom Operators profits are becoming slimmer and slimmer, thanks to the 'Pay for what you use' tariff plans!
Where all telecom operators are reducing the tariff rates and offering various exciting plans, Airtel wants TRAI to do something about the Predatory pricing. Every telecom operator is thinking about launching a new and unique plan to attract more users.
Now Airtel wants an end to the tariff war in order to maintain the profit margin. The 'predatory pricing' war really began with Tata Docomo's Pay Per Second Plans. Bharti Airtel which is the most congested network finally put the foot down when Norwegian telecom Giant Telenor entered the market as Uninor with 29p/minute local rates.
