DoT Issues Show- Cause Notice to Idea for Over Renting of SIM

DoT has issued a show - cause notice to Idea Cellular for issuing illegal SIMs.

According to DoT, Idea Cellular had rented 3640 SIMs to Sumit Khanna and his company M/s Limco Sales Corporation which is illegal according to the rules and regulations. So DoT has issued a show- cause notice to Idea for that. As per the rules SIM cards will be issued after the proper proofs and verification for security reasons.
According to DoT notice, "M/s Idea Cellular (ICL) has issued 3,640 bulk post-paid connections in the name of Sumit Khanna and his company M/s Limco Sales Corporation... on account of giving these connections for rental use. Such an act is a serious threat to the security of the nation."
However Idea Cellular Managing Director Sanjiv Agha denies DoT notice.
